What Women Really Think of Sunday Afternoon Football

Published by rodneysouthern at 5:27 pm under Why Do Women Do This? Edit This

Football has always been a passion of mine, and when I found out my wife was a football fan, I knew she was the one for me. I already knew that I loved her, and this was just the icing on the cake. My wife, an avid St. Louis Rams fan, would sit down and watch the entire Sunday lineup of games with me when we first got together. She was totally into the games, and we really enjoyed ourselves.

As the years went on, she began to watch less and less until finally last season she completely ignored the television. Somewhere along the way, the women of the world stole my football buddy. What is it with women and football? Even the women that love it end up gravitating away as they age. Maybe they move on to more important ventures or whatever, but they just do not find football important anymore.

To the American male, football is more important as we age. The older we get, the more we realize how much more unlikely we will get out there and actually play again. Thus, we live vicariously through the television screens on Sundays.

My wife used football to get into my good graces, and then vanished from my football world. She now is the classic football wife that always wants me to take out the trash at the vital points of the game, and can pick the most inopportune times to have me cut the lawn. She no longer is into it the way she used to be. She will watch the occasional game if her beloved Rams are playing, but by halftime she has moved on to other ventures.

So now I know. If your woman “loves” football, be afraid. Be very afraid, because it is a trap. She will get you where she wants you, and then hand you the trash during the game winning touchdown.
